The Stars That Usher Evening Rose

I am beginning to believe that Asheville is cursed. At least in the way of snow. Every time they forecast a big snow event here (atleast in the time I have been here) it never happens. Most of the time we will get some snow but about a 1/4th what they forecast. Same thing happened this weekend. They were forecasting up to 8 inches of snow here Friday night into Saturday. Guess how much we got? Try zero. What fell was all rain and very little rain fell at that, I think the airport reported something like 0.20 inches of rain over that time. It is not the forecasters fault that they get it wrong. All their models and the conditions were setting up perfect but something always comes along a fucks things up. Like this last time the Upper Level trough which was supposed to interact with the low ended up lagging behind therefore the low didn't intensify until it was past us. So therefore the cold air wasn't in place like it should have been and the moisture wasn't there like it should have been therefore all we got was just a small amount of rain. But, since the upper level trough was lagging behind once it did come though here it lead to an enhancing of the northwest flow event which did give us here on campus about a total of 2 to 2 and half inches of snow between Saturday evening and Monday morning.

This gave start to a great beginning of the week. Because of the snow we did get it caused the cancellation of classes on Monday. Then on Monday afternoon I got an e-mail from my Physics professor telling us that he is canceling labs and class for the rest of the week because he father had passed away over the weekend so he was leaving to go to the funeral and spend time with his family. Though that isn't the way I like to have classes cancelled it still was a nice addition to the beginning of the week. Then to top it off the iPod got here on Monday which was two days earlier than planned. So overall had a good start to the week. Though because of all that next week will suck since we will have classes on Monday (well maybe might have another winter system come in this weekend into Monday) and Physics classes will resume as normal so that means no more sleeping in. Spring Break is just over two weeks away though. Hard to believe still feels like its maybe the second week of the semester. I am not complaining though because unlike last Spring I am actually ready for this year to end.
