The Stars That Usher Evening Rose

"Wan night, the shadow goer, came stepping in." -- Philip James Bailey

The concert last night was great. Matt and I got there while the second band, Michael Tolcher, was on stage. He was alright. After a 30 or so minute wait the 3rd band, Pat McGee Band, played and they were decent. After they finished we had to wait about 45 minutes or so before Everclear finally took the stage because they had some technical difficulties with one of the microphones. So Art came out and played "Songs From An American Movie Pt. 1" after which the rest of the band joined him on stage. In the middle of the show Art again played alone but this time it was planned. They also did a great cover of "This Land Is Your Land" which somehow the crowd found a way to mosh to it. Speaking of the mosh pit it was just to our left and extremely annoying as we would get pushed around, it was a huge mosh pit to probably 30 or so people. We started the concert almost center but due to the most pit we got push over to the right but still were able to stay up close and keep a good view. Everclear though didn't do as much this year as they did at last years show, I don't know if it was because they were more pressed for time or because of the new members and they want to do something different. Put they didn't pull anyone at all up on stage like last year. Also some of the songs sounded different, like "Heroin Girl" seemed more base heavy. Also they played a new song, actually its about 2 years old they just didn't put it on the last CD because they didn't feel it fit on that CD, called "Glorious" which they plan to release with their Greatest Hits CD when it comes out. Though Art was just as crowd interactive as always which definitely makes the show better.

After the concert we headed home and I got back to the apartment some time around 1am. And due to having to take the dog out, getting a shower, getting something to eat, and watching a little Sports Center to check on the scores of all the games, I didn't end up actually getting to sleep until 3am.
